Taco & Burrito Express offers a delicious variety of authentic Mexican burritos, tacos, and side dishes. We feature different burritos, and different tacos using only the best steak, chicken, and pork.

The Briceño family owns the taco and burrito express Restaurant at 516 S. Route 31, McHenry, which opened in March 2004, and one by the same name in Mundelein, which opened eight years ago. Alonso Briceño and his wife, Elva, are originally from Zacatecas, Mexico. They came to the United States and settled in California, then 10 years ago moved to Illinois. Their three children — Gus, Lolo and Nereida — work at the family businesses.

"At both the Taco and Burrito Expresses, we serve good, authentic Mexican food, but it is mostly fast food," said Gus, who has a degree in the culinary arts. " Tquilas is a little more of a dine-in place, and it has a bar. It was a good opportunity for us. We plan to serve more unusual Mexican foods, make the service a little faster and the atmosphere a little friendlier."
